United Methodist Women

Purpose

The Organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community
of women whose purpose is:
“To Know God and to Experience Freedom as Whole Persons through Jesus Christ; to Develop a Creative Supportive Fellowship; and to Expand Concepts of Missions through Participation in the Global Ministries of the Church.”

This group meets monthly, (usually on the second or third Saturday morning of the month) September through May, and is directly connected to the district and statewide Conference group of United Methodist Women. Past mission events have included making baby blankets for in-gathering collection, and putting on the Harvest Festival and Dinner Theatre events, which raise funds for mission projects. From social activities to bible study circle to reading groups, there are many opportunities to be involved. Their annual Dinner Theater is scheduled for March 1 & 2, 2008, and a Mother-Daughter Tea is in the planning stage for later this spring.

As United Methodist Women, they pledge:

My prayers, that I may experience growth and renewal in my relationship to God & to my sisters, and brothers;
My time, that I may respond to human need through study, action and reflection;
My financial gifts, that I may share in the global ministries of the church through United Methodist Women.

In 2007, the slate of officers for Wesley’s UMW group are:
