Meet Pastor Tshishinen

Reverend Tshishinen Chingej Mpoyo is my name and my title. I was born in a small town called Sandoa, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of Congo. I am ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. I am married to Rev. Mulongo Mpoyo, who is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, currently working at Waukau, and Community UMC, in North Fond du Lac, he is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Currently we are American Citizen.

God blessed us with two sons who are here with us. Eric M. Muyumb will be a senior at Carol University this fall, majoring in graphic design. Michel M. Mwanza, will soon start college at UW Oshkosh, in the school of engineering.

My father was a United Methodist Pastor in South Congo Annual Conference. My mother was involved in women’s ministries wherever they were appointed at any given parish. My grandparents were among the earliest United Methodist African Pastors who worked with missionaries in the Democratic Republic of Congo. My family has nine children and I am the fourth child and two of my siblings are deceased.

I earned four units of clinical pastoral education and was certified as a chaplain at York Hospital, in York Pennsylvania since 2009. I was an associate pastor at Saint Peter’s United Methodist church, in the west annual conference of Mutare Zimbabwe 2007-2008. In the summer of 2006, I successfully completed the Unit I of Clinical Pastoral Education at Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. I earned my Bachelor of Divinity Degree at Africa University in Zimbabwe on June 9, 2007 and was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church; South Congo Annual Conference on July 8, 2007. I hold a State Diploma in biochemistry from the Musumba United Methodist High School in the D. R. Congo (1991).

In my life, there are people who have been very instrumental in my spiritual journey; my parents, my husband, and some friends. My main goal is to be able to share the good news of Jesus with everybody who is open to receive it and do the same as we go outside our comfort zones.

I would love to get to know people from Wesley UMC and their families, because it is so important to know the people that God has brought us together in ministry with. My dream is to see this intergenerational congregation continue to grow wider and deeper with a love of Christ and attract the rest of the community to this place. I hope and pray that we will work together in the love of Christ. We pursue to be a people that the Almighty God will always dwell among, scripture says where two or three gathered, He is present. Let us continue to be more open, honest, and welcoming.

There are many ways you can choose to get in touch with me, your pastor. By phone, home visit, Email or office visit.  Please let Debbie know and we will work out a way that works for you.

May God bless you as you get to know my family and me.
