Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is my pleasure to be appointed as your new pastor. I look forward to being in ministry with you as together we strive to know, love and serve God as Wesley United Methodist Church in the Oshkosh community.
At this writing I have been your pastor for less than one week and I have met many of you. My challenge will be to remember who everyone is, i.e. putting the names and the faces together. I hope you will be patient with me as I go through that learning process. I am also learning how you worship and work together, as well as how you relate to one another. Please be patient with my many questions as I seek to put the many pieces of the Wesley puzzle together.
For your information, I have been involved in ministry for nearly 30 years. The past seven years I have served as a Licensed Local Pastor at the River Valley Charge of Pepin, Alma and Arkansaw, the Randolph-Courtland Charge and at Sheboygan-Wesley. As a lay person I served at my home church Covenant United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac where I had a variety of experiences and leadership roles.
I was physical education teacher for 33 years and a pioneer in the development of the girl’s athletic programs in the three school districts I served. I taught in the Little Wolf School District (Manawa), the Kiel School District and the Campbellsport School District and coached volleyball, basketball and track and field.
I received my B.S. degree from UW-Oshkosh and my M.A. in Physical Education from the University of Iowa. I just recently completed my Course of Study work as a Licensed Local Pastor.
I am a widow; my husband Owen passed away 10 years ago. I have a step-son, daughter-in- law, two adult grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and I am the oldest of six children.
I live on a small farm South of Fond du Lac. I love country living...but the city is getting closer and closer to my location.
I look forward to ministering with you and ask God’s blessings on our time together.
